Hot and feisty summer

I am like a caterpillar in the colder months and I transform into a butterfly in summer. It is time to pick up the pace and full speed ahead. Summer is my favourite time here in the UK, I usually don’t like travelling outside the country when it’s lovely here. Summer is here, and I want to do everything! Visit everyone and just enjoy life! Well, you get the idea, I love summer. It’s weddings, barbecues, sun and sea activities. All good stuff.

I love summer look–  this is the only time I am not wearing layers of clothes, one of the few times I get to wear my African print clothes and let my skin breathe. Summer looks good on me, even if I say so myself.

Summer food– yes, to watermelons, fresh fruits, roasted corn, colourful and tasty salad. Everything seems to taste better in summer (because the food is in season). I enjoy smoothies more, I eat salad in summer, not just make and waste (I tolerate salad in winter because I want warm food). Barbecued food and hopefully, eat a little healthier.

So far, the weather has been behaving, the sun is shining, and I’ve been taking advantage. I hope you guys are enjoying the weather. How are you preparing for the summer holidays? How are you going to keep your child/ children entertained this summer? I have a post on keeping the children entertained, check it out

Summer activities– I am most active in summer, that goes without saying for most of us. More walking, dancing and swimming. Having longer days means we can pack a whole lot more activities in one day or take our time doing something we enjoy without feeling rushed.

We all need to step out of our comfort zone this season and make it fun for the kids. let them have something to talk about when they go back to school and most importantly, create amazing memories with them. It doesn’t have to be expensive, make use of your local facilities and activities. Make friends with other mums who know what’s happening around your area. Be spontaneous and show your kids how fun and cool you are!

As usual, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below, do let me know what you think and don’t forget to get my free eBook. Subscribe to my newsletter that way you get an email as soon as I upload a new blog. Follow me on Instagram and Facebook. Have a great summer!

Hi Ebony, I understand the importance of watching the cost. Make use of your local activities and leisure centres. Look out for deals on groupon, sometimes they do great cinema deals and other things. Don’t forget to ask around, some mums are great with knowing what’s happening.

I love summer. Bright and colourful.
My most favourite season. Looking forward to Barry island in Wales. Kids cannot wait for end of school.
    I also love my salads.
